To coordinate, manage and supervise all aspects of the photo department on all three vessels, including monthly inventories, ordering of supplies, managing cost/waste and profitability, managing all forms/logs pertaining to photo sales, monthly reporting, schedule coordination, equipment maintenance/repair, backdrop locations/props, and training deck crew in order to ensure guest satisfaction in photo quality, smooth operation of boarding photo process and the selling of photos.

This position will be super fun with lots of face-to-face interaction with fellow front-line hospitality workers and tourists in the Tampa Bay Area. Perfect for an entry-level to moderate-level hospitality employee. It is not for the person looking for the 'behind the scenes" office job. It IS for someone looking for action-packed interaction and mobility as a major portion of this position will be riding Yacht Starship's corporate Segway! This will be a full-time position that provides hourly compensation as well as commission. You must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel between Tampa and Clearwater. We’re looking for someone with an inviting personality who enjoys relationship building and interacting with prospective customers.

 

Responsibilities would include visiting with the local hotel font desk/concierge personnel in Downtown Tampa as well as Clearwater Beach to keep them informed of our cruises and upcoming events, providing them with cruise calendar and information, maintaining our local brochure rack locations as well as procuring new locations, and distributing brochures and making reservations for our dining cruises at high foot traffic events. (i.e. Amalie Arena, Convention Center, Beach Festivals, etc).   Applicants should have computer skills to be able to create simple flyers, calendars, emails, contribute to our Facebook page, create reports showing weekly marketing/activity and more. Most importantly, applicants for this position should have a friendly disposition, be able to work independently, be professional and be interested in the Hospitality industry! The objective of this position is to promote individual ticket sales for Yacht StarShip Dining Cruises.

Deck Hand/Mate – Channelside Area AND Clearwater

Yacht StarShip is now hiring experienced Mates and Deckhands to work aboard Tampa Bay's premier dining yacht. Clearwater Marina Location as well as Tampa Location are available.

Some of the typical daily duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

* Clean and prepare designated public areas by meeting established standards of cleanliness to assure guests satisfaction.
* Responsible for security and safety at the gangway and associated passenger embarkation/disembarkation areas and inspect yacht for unsafe conditions, correcting and reporting (to the Captain) any that are found.
* Responsible for washing and cleaning the entire exterior of the yacht, including windows and decks.
* Responsible for painting and maintaining the exterior of the yacht, including chipping, scraping, and priming.
* Responsible for mooring the vessel.
* Prepare job related documentation.
* Attend daily/weekly safety meetings with assigned crew.
* Perform general marine preventative maintenance activities, repairs, and housekeeping tasks along with other duties as assigned.

Top candidates must have great people skills and look professional since deck crew are one of the first people our guests come into contact with on their cruise experience. Top candidates should also be mechanically inclined (in general) with a basic knowledge of engines and pumps, be able to work independently on a list of projects, and also be able to work well with others on larger maintenance projects. 
Top candidates will have prior deckhand experience as well as experience with managing a crew. All members of the marine crew are subject to Yacht StarShip's Coast Guard regulated drug testing program. 

 

 

 

Individual Sales Manager

Yacht StarShip Dining Cruises, America's first 3-diamond rated fine dining yacht, is now accepting applications for a Full Time Individual Sales Manager. All applicants should have at least one year of experience in some type of customer service and an interest in the hospitality industry. Position offers anywhere from 35-40 hrs/wk. Qualified applicants must be available to work weekends ie. Saturdays and Sundays. Weekdays can be flexible. 

 

Position consists of 2 main elements: 
1. Inbound phone calls and making reservations for parties of 2-24 people. 
2. Handling the boarding of dining cruises, including the distribution of boarding passes and cash transactions. 

 

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to welcoming clients that are arriving for site tours, working with our marine department to ensure the boarding area is safe and clean, and making sure our Starship brochure racks are stocked. 

 

The position requires someone that is able to and enjoys work independently with high logical/deductive reasoning skills. Also, must be computer savvy. This position requires use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel as well as instant message chat and our reservations software. Must have a professional demeanor on the phone as well as in face-to-face interactions. This is a great position for someone loves the hospitality industry, loves talking to people and loves the boating industry! (Who doesn't right?)

Yacht Starship Dining Cruises operates Tampa Bay's premier fleet of dining yachts. Yacht Starship's food and service have been rated 3-diamond by AAA which ranks in the top 28% of all restaurants (even land-based restaurants!) Our cruises consist of public 'restaurant-style' dining as well as private 'banquet-style' events. Menus range from 3 or 4-course seated meals to upscale buffets to hand-passed hors d'oeuvres and gourmet food stations.  

 

Line Cook Requirements:  Applicants should have at least 2 years of experience in a high volume and/or fine dining restaurant with a stable work history. Our cruises are typically 3 hours with all guests being fed usually within a 2-hour time frame, so best applicants would be able to contribute to a quality end-product while moving very quickly. It would be a plus for candidates must have a clean driving record.  This is a full-time position and qualified candidates must be available to work Saturdays. This is a mandatory pre-requisite. Yacht StarShip is hiring experienced servers. Servers must have fine dining and/or high volume experience. Shifts include serving private parties, dinner shifts and lunch shifts. Yacht Starship is now hiring for a full time Cruise Director/DJ. This position's main role is to engage and entertain dinner cruise passengers as well as private charters including corporate events and weddings aboard a fine dining yacht. Good candidates must be professional in look and demeanor and engaging to guests, welcoming them aboard the Yacht, visiting tables, etc. Should be able to read a crowd and play music to keep the party going. The general genre of music that is typically played is popular and fun CLEAN music - music that would be appropriate for a group celebrating a 25th birthday and at the same time would be appropriate for a couple celebrating their 25th anniversary. In addition, this position is responsible for all audio/visual processes on the yacht, including speakers/ sound system/ tv's/ mics/ cd/dvd players/ music library, etc. Qualified applicants should have at least one year of experience in this field as well as knowledge of electronics and how different systems are integrated and work together. Good candidates must be highly organized to keep up with maintenance of electronics. 

 

We have equipment and a music database, so you do not need to provide your own. 

 

This position will also play a minor role on our marine crew and may be asked to assist in docking the yacht as well as safety procedures.
